What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed altered state of consciousness where the mind focuses inward. In this state, the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions and mental imagery. Have you ever engaged in daydreaming and lost track of your surroundings for a brief moment? That dissociated experience is comparable to a hypnotic trance.
During a hypnotic session, the practitioner will gently guide the client through a series of suggestions to help them calmly shift perspectives and focus on their inner mental landscape. Clients remain in control at all times and only accept suggestions that feel right for them. Together, practitioner and client can explore thoughts, feelings and beliefs to catalyze meaningful inner change.
Hypnosis is not sleep - it is a state of heightened focus and absorption. The external world may seem distant while the inner mind comes to the forefront. In this softened awareness, we can access deeper parts of ourselves to foster insight, enhance self-care habits or alleviate challenging symptoms like stress.
